The following is a selection of volunteer opportunities from various community organizations, made available through Volunteer North Shore, a service of North Shore Community Resources Society.
CFL Volunteer Volunteer will be involved in fundraising events throughout the year, such as the LIVERright Health Forum, The Stroll for Liver and the LIVERight Gala. In addition, participant can be involved in health promotion presentations and liver disease awareness. Volunteers are welcome to establish their own fundraising initiatives, such as third party events.
Peer Support Volunteer Provide support and information on the telephone with newly diagnosed cancer patients.
Volunteer Ski Snow Board Instructor or Helper Volunteer Instructors receive their CADS Level 1 certification during training over one weekend in January and mentor with experienced instructors. Participants who wish to work with students in the stand-up ski or snowboard program should be a competent skier on blue runs. Volunteer needs to be strong enough on the slopes so that they do not fall and are able to ensure that the student is supported, physically, if needed.
Volunteer Office Support Provide direct clerical support for Vancouver Biennale staff. Typical tasks include researching, data entry and maintaining various databases, preparing materials for events and general office duties.
Admin Support Volunteer Volunteers greet families with children birth to six-years-old and help them complete program registration and become familiar with the lay out and program procedures. Based on interests volunteer may also take on other duties. Volunteer is one of the first people to welcome families and help set a friendly, inclusive tone in the centres.
