The following is a selection of volunteer opportunities from various community organizations, made available through Volunteer North Shore, a service of North Shore Community Resources Society.

Membership Chair The chair keeps membership records (Excel); reports to board meetings; renewal forms and reminders; donation receipts and thank you notes; keeping track of meetings, correspondence and messages.

Hiking Program Volunteers Active volunteers who love the outdoors and enjoy a team environment are needed to help with the hiking program to make it possible for people with physical disabilities.

Personal Disaster Assistant Volunteers help with emergency planning and kit preparedness; assess client needs and provide comfort; complete necessary paperwork; participate in operational debriefings.

Driver (Medical Rides) This service is to assist seniors who are unable to use public transit or the Go Bus and when HandyDart, family or friends are not available. Volunteer drivers will accompany the senior door to door and to and from the waiting room of appointments. Volunteers are not allowed to attend appointments with patient.

Sharing Gardener Volunteers grow, harvest and deliver fresh, delicious food for people in need on the North Shore. Work with a team to develop an annual garden plan; participate in weekly produce harvests and delivery, and garden watering; identify tasks to be completed; meet monthly as a group with staff to plan and schedule upcoming garden activities/tasks.
