The following is a selection of volunteer opportunities from various community organizations, made available through Volunteer North Shore, a service of North Shore Community Resources Society.
Client Services Volunteer This position provides frontline contact for in-person and telephone inquiries from the public with a primary responsibility to provide loans and accept returns of health equipment. Provides professional customer service and information to the public, both by telephone and in-person.
Farmers Market Volunteer The market takes place at Lonsdale Quay every Saturday and in West Vancouver every Sunday. Volunteers are needed for market set up (8-10 a.m. ) and tear down (3-3:45 p.m.). Volunteers are also needed to deliver posters to cSeniors’ Peer Support Volunteeommunity centres, coffee shops etc. in both areas.
Seniors' Peer Support Volunteer Looking for caring volunteers to provide an emotional support for seniors, also to guide them through changes and challenges. Possible previous experience in people-related services.
Fringe Festival Volunteer Volunteers needed for a variety of positions including everything from ticket sellers to ushers to site crew to bartenders, and a whole lot more. No matter what volunteers area of interest, there will be a position that is just right .
Education Assistant Working with the education co-ordinator, volunteers deliver hands-on programming at the museum. Good position for those who enjoy working and meeting new people, and learning and sharing about West Vancouver history. Assist with preparation and delivery of programs at summer art camps and assist with events when there is need.
