The following is a selection of volunteer opportunities from various community organizations, made available through Volunteer North Shore, a service of North Shore Community Resources Society.
Gallery Attendants Be present during gallery opening to greet gallery patrons and to inform them of exhibitions, events and various programs. If the gallery is quiet volunteers may be asked to help with day-to-day tasks.
Program/Activity Instructor Individuals who are willing to teach or lead programs in visual arts, performing arts, dance, fitness, indoor sports, card games, computers, languages and more are welcome.
Special Olympics Volunteer Special Olympics BC North Shore is looking for volunteers to join their inspiring program. A variety of positions are available.
Seniors Peer Support Volunteer Looking for caring volunteers to provide an emotional support for seniors, also to guide them through changes and challenges. Possible previous experience in people-related services.
Volunteer Driver (Modo) Provide transportation for frail, elderly seniors to enable them to get out of their homes and go grocery shopping, attend appointments or participate in social activities in the community. Ask about using Modo vehicles to provide the service.
