Sixteen-year-old North Vancouver resident Camila Palacios recently spearheaded a campaign to get 66 care packages together that were donated to the Downtown Eastside Women’s Shelter.

After putting out the call on a local Facebook group that she was looking for new or slightly used donations – including toothbrushes, soap bars, feminine hygiene products, nail polish and more – she received many enthusiastic responds.

Palacios and her mother drove through the Lynn Valley and Lonsdale area picking up bags of donations of basic toiletries.
