THE B.C. Association of Optometrists has elected its new executive, which includes newly appointed secretary-treasurer, Dr. Pavan Avinashi, who practises in North and West Vancouver.
According to a written statement, the new executive was elected at the association's annual conference, held during the first week of March, and was followed by an awards luncheon.
The association's board also includes North Vancouver's Dr. Antoinette Dumalo, who is past president.

North Vancouver dentist Gail Landsberger received an Award of Merit at the College of Dental Surgeons of B.C.'s annual awards ceremony March 8 in Vancouver.
The award recognizes Landsberger's significant contributions, beyond basic volunteer participation, to the profession of dentistry through involvement with the college.
Landsberger served on the college's ethics committee for four years and was also a member of the practice standards and professional conduct committees.
