We recently asked kids at six elementary schools across the North Shore to help us design some ads for the paper.
Let The Kids Design the Ads program was an opportunity for Grade 4-6 students to learn a bit about the business of a community paper, how to create an engaging advertisement, and share some of their great ideas.
A few weeks ago, we visited participating schools to give students an overview of the North Shore News, and explain some basic principles of advertising and marketing. The students then flexed their creative muscles designing ads for some of our clients.
Click through the photo gallery above to see the submissions from students in classes from Dorothy Lynas, Gleneagles, Larson, Pauline Johnson, Ridgeview, and Ridgeway.
Thanks to all the students, teachers, advertisers and North Shore News staff who participated. And special thanks to Pacific Honda, North Vancouver Recreation & Culture and Grouse Mountain for providing some prizing for the students.
