The 10th-grader spearheaded the Bold to Go Bald head-shaving event in collaboration with Brockton School, Rockridge Secondary and Mulgrave's Upper School in recognition of World Children's Day. "Four years ago I took the initiative to shave my head in order to raise funds and awareness for children's cancer and decided it was time to do it again," Rinck said in an email to the News. Eleven students and teachers shaved their heads in support of BC Children's Hospital. The midday event also featured a speech by Catherine Addison, a Mulgrave alum and cancer survivor. Their goal was to raise $20,000 to fund research to help find a cure for cancer. Click here to learn about research initiatives at BC Kids.
