Residents are invited to a guided walk along North Vancouver’s Richard Juryn trail Oct. 16.

Hosted by the North Shore Black Bear Society and BC Hydro, the educational tour will take hikers through an area where vegetation management was completed earlier this year. BC Hydro will outline how it keeps the transmission system free of hazards and share how hikers can stay safe on trails near power lines.

David Cook, a retired biologist and long-time volunteer with the North Shore Black Bear Society, will share his latest study about human-wildlife conflict and will give tips on how to be bear aware while hiking.

Participants are asked to meet near the gate at the beginning of the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve by 10 a.m. Carpooling is recommended. RSVP to [email protected] or text 604-317-4911.
