North Vancouver Scouts Grayson Beck, Cole Cusanelli and Catriona Conner recently received the Chief Scout’s Award, and Max Witte (also a North Vancouver Scout) received the Medal of the Maple award.

A ceremony was held on June 4 to recognize 79 Scouts from the Lower Mainland, including North Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Delta, Garibaldi Highlands, Gibsons, New Westminster, Port Coquitlam, Richmond, and Vancouver.

A press release from the organization noted that the awards recognize the outstanding achievements and community service among Scouts.

The Chief Scout Award is Scouts Canada’s highest award for Scouts (ages 11-14) that recognizes remarkable achievement across many areas including citizenship, leadership, personal development and outdoor skills, stated the release.

The Medal of the Maple honours extraordinary Scouts up to the age of 26 who have significantly contributed to the spirit of Scouting through community service and extraordinary Scouting participation, stated the release.
