Alzheimer's Care Training: West Vancouver families are invited to free training workshops July 18, 3-5 p.m. and July 24, 1-3 p.m. at Home Instead Senior Care facility, 201-2232 Marine Drive, West Vancouver. These sessions are designed to incorporate a patient-centred approach to help families deal with some of the difficult behavioural changes associated with Alzheimer's and other dementias. If caregivers are unable to attend the sessions, they can access free online training modules at www. helpforalzheimersfamilies. com.

The North Vancouver Lawn Bowling Club will hold a barbecue and trophy ceremony for its Round Robin tournament wrap up Thursday, July 19, 5: 30 p.m. at 2160 Lonsdale Ave., North Vancouver. Haiti Village Health Fundraiser: Evans and Francesca, a group whose goal is to build a child and maternal health clinic in Haiti, will host a fundraiser Friday, July 20, 6: 30 p.m. at Mosquito Creek Bar & Grill, Westview shopping centre, North Vancouver. Movie Night: An outdoor movie night Saturday, July 21 at John Lawson Park, West Vancouver is in support of Cops for Cancer. Showing of The Princess Bride will start at dusk. Donations will be accepted at the door. There will be popcorn sales and 50/50 tickets.

Outdoor Summer Party: Capilano Mall and the Queens Cross Pub will come together to help raise funds for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Saturday, July 21, 1-6 p.m. in the parking lot of the Queens Cross Pub, 2989 Lonsdale Ave., North Vancouver. Tickets: $25 at the door or $20 if purchased in advance, which includes a beer and a burger. Attendees are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item or a monetary donation for the food bank.
