A stilt-walking butterfly performer flits about the newly renovated North Vancouver Civic Plaza Saturday as the North Shore Celtic Ensemble serenades the plaza's grand opening celebration.

The event, which also featured storytelling at the library, a First Nations blessing and speeches from dignitaries, marked the official re-opening of the public space on Lonsdale Avenue as well as the adjoining City Hall, which had been partially closed for two years while it underwent renovations.
