Someone won $58 million through the Gold Ball Jackpot in the Lotto 6/49 draw this week.

Someone is $58 million richer in B.C.

But it's not clear who. They might not even know yet.

The BC Lottery Corp. (BCLC) has issued a press release announcing someone has won the Gold Ball Jackpot, which was part of the Lotto 6/49 draw on March 6.

"The winning jackpot numbers were: 18041531-05," states the BCLC.

The Gold Ball Draw happens at the same time as the Lotto 6/49 draws, but instead of matching six of the 49 possible numbers, a ticket is picked out of each draw, which either wins $1 million or the Gold Ball Jackpot, which starts at $10 million and grows with each draw until it's won.

However, there is no physical ticket, as the winner bought the ticket online through the PlayNow.com site run by the BCLC.

The draw was national, but to play on PlayNow.com one must be a B.C. resident, playing in B.C., and old enough to legally gamble, so that narrows it down to an adult somewhere in the province.
