Pumpkin Patch in the Park returns to Squamish

The Downtown Holiday Parade will take place on Dec. 3.

The Pumpkin Patch in the Park returns on Oct. 22 in downtown Squamish.

On Saturday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Pumpkin Patch in the Park event will return to Stan Clarke Park after a short hiatus. Activities will include face painting, live music, Halloween crafts and more. There is no admission fee, but a minimum donation of $5 is required per pumpkin with the proceeds going to Sea to Sky Allies, an organization that looks to build community among parents, caregivers and allies of 2SLGBTQ+ locals.

“I am so thrilled we can finally bring back this community event, and this year we will be adding a few new fun activities,” said Kerry Neil, the executive director of the Downtown Squamish BIA, in a news release.

Children will pick up a free treat bag and a stamp card from the event, can visit about 10 businesses and have an opportunity to win a grand prize, said Neil.

In other news, the Downtown Squamish Holiday Parade will return to Squamish on Dec. 3.

All community members are invited to join the parade to celebrate any and all holidays that happen throughout the winter. The parade will follow a route from Third Avenue, along Pemberton, then travel up Cleveland Avenue to Main Street.

Neil said, “We are very excited to say that the Squamish Men’s Shed are going to be building us a brand new sleigh for Santa. They are currently working hard on the design and concept and we can’t wait to see what they come up with.”
