Travellers are advised to check the status of their flights with their airlines.

Flights at YVR are currently delayed due to Nav Canada resource constraints.

Resource constraints at Nav Canada caused delays to flights at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) on Christmas Eve.

According to a post from Nav Canada Operations on social media platform X on Sunday evening, its team is "working to keep aircraft moving safely and as expeditiously as possible."

An update posted by YVR around 10:20 p.m. added the airport expects flight delays to continue over "the next several hours."

The airport later posted shortly before midnight that flights were returning to posted schedules as Nav Canada resolves the issue.

Travellers should check their flight status with their airlines and YVR suggests travellers at the airport who need assistance can speak with their guest experience team members.

According to YVR's predictions last week, Dec. 19 to 26 is expected to be the airport's busiest week this year.

The airport anticipated traffic of around 69,028 daily passengers throughout the week with the busiest day being Dec. 22.

Updates on the situation will be provided on yvr.ca and via X at @yvrairport.
