Last month my wife woke up in the middle of the night unable to breathe.
I called 911, and firemen and paramedics were there in five minutes. Minutes later she was on oxygen and in a wheelchair on her way to Lions Gate hospital, where she was admitted with congestive heart failure.
When I arrived at the hospital about half an hour later, she had been through Emergency, been seen by a cardiologist, and treated. She needed two cardioversions.
I don’t know for sure, but it’s likely they saved her life.
If anyone tells you our health care system is broken, tell them about my wife.
My heartfelt thanks to the first responders and the wonderful staff at Lions Gate.
