An alleged sex offender from the B.C. Interior is among Canada’s 25 most wanted.
Oliver Ole Langelid, 71, of Creston is wanted on child sex crimes and has failed to attend court on the charges. Has has earned the 22nd position on the Bolo Program’s Canada’s Most Wanted, which was updated Tuesday.
"This first update of our Top 25 is part of our commitment to encourage Canadians to be on the lookout for Canada's most wanted, and to make our communities safer," Bolo Program Director Max Langlois said.
"We are proud to launch this first update in British Columbia, with our Western Canadian policing partners, with 13 new cases, including an increased number of cases from both Alberta and British Columbia."
Many of the suspects have awards associated with them. The most wanted man in the country is Rabih Alkhalil, murderer who escaped custody at the North Fraser Pre-trial Centre in Port Coquitlam. Up to $250,000 is being offered for information leading to his arrest.
While on trial for another murder, Alkhalil escaped with two accomplices posing as contractors. He is described as “very dangerous” with a “lengthy criminal record and extensive ties to organized crime.”
