A May 2023 stabbing in Vancouver's West End claimed the life of Jonathan James Bulloch, 43.

The man charged with murder in the May 2023 fatal stabbing of a man in Vancouver’s West End returns to court on Feb. 29 to set a future court appearance.

Lloyd Peter Robinson was arrested by police on Feb. 16 at a house in Kelowna's Glenmore neighbourhood, according to a Vancouver Police Department press release. Vancouver detectives made the arrest, with assistance from RCMP officers.

Robinson is the suspect in the death of Jonathan James Bulloch, 43.

Bulloch was stabbed about 10 p.m. May 27, 2023 after an altercation near Davie and Bute streets.

Bulloch was taken to hospital where he later died.

On Feb. 22, Robinson appeared before Vancouver Provincial Court Judge Ellen Gordon via video from North Fraser Pretrial Centre. Clad in red prison sweats, he sat with his arms crossed through the brief proceedings.

Defence lawyer Ken Westlake said he has put in a request to the Crown for particulars in the case.

The online court database file on the case is blocked even though the only ban imposed is the standard statutory publication ban on information from a courtroom bail hearing.
