Several additional North Shore schools have reported COVID-19 exposures in the past week and one Grade 1 has been told to stay home as a precaution.

Parents at Highlands Elementary in Edgemont got word Oct. 31 that a Grade 1 class at the school has been told to self-isolate after being exposed to a positive case of COVID-19 on Oct. 26, 27 and 28.

At the high school level, families of Carson Graham Secondary students were told Nov. 1 that two Grade 10 classes, including some French and engineering classes, should monitor themselves for symptoms after being exposed to a case of the virus Oct. 27, 28 and 29.

A cohort of Grade 9 students at West Vancouver Secondary in West Vancouver have also been told to monitor for symptoms until Nov. 11 after being exposed to a case of COVID-19 on Oct. 26, 27 and 28.

The previous week, only one school on the North Shore was added to the exposure list: Holy Trinity Elementary School, a private school on 27th Street in North Vancouver, where students were potentially exposed to the virus Oct. 19 to 22, according to VCH.

Since the start of school, there have been 22 schools on the North Shore where students and teachers have been potentially exposed to a person who has the virus.
