Daily COVID-19 rate drops on the North Shore

The number of people who have received their first dose of vaccine continues to climb

The average daily rate of COVID-19 cases has decreased on the North Shore, according to B.C. Centre for Disease Control data covering the week of May 18 to 24.

In North Vancouver, the average daily rate of COVID-19 cases fell to 4.1.

More than four in five adults aged 50 or over (85 per cent) have received their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, along with almost seven in 10 (69 per cent) of those over the age of 18. 

In West Vancouver, the average daily rate of COVID-19 cases fell in West Vancouver to 0.5.

More than four in five adults aged 50 or over (82 per cent) have received their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, along with two-thirds (68 per cent) of those over the age of 18.
