To mark the end of Ramadan, the M.T.O. Shahmaghsoudi School of Islamic Sufism Vancouver Centre donated and delivered 750 meals to seniors across Metro Vancouver on Monday.

The individually packaged meals were also delivered to residents at Libby Lodge in Horseshoe Bay. In North Vancouver, meals were delivered to the North Shore Women's Centre on East Second Street as well as to 10 individual homes.

Deliveries were co-ordinated with the assistance of North Shore Emergency Management, according to a release.

Earlier in the month, the global non-profit organization donated care packages to hospitals and long-term care centres across the Lower Mainland. The donations commemorated International Nurses Day and National Nurses Week.

The care packs were filled with hand-sewn scrub caps, snacks and thank-you cards written by children from MTO’s Vancouver centre and were delivered on May 12 to various locations, including Lions Gate Hospital, Evergreen House and Lynn Valley Care Centre.
