The nights are about to get a little brighter on Brooksbank Avenue as the annual Park & Tilford Hi-Light Festival prepares to lighten the mood.

The annual Park and Tilford Hi-Light Festival is prepared to charge up more than 50,000 bulbs beginning Nov. 30.

Spread over three acres of botanical garden, the event is set to feature special events and fire engine rides with proceeds earmarked for the North Vancouver firefighters charitable societies.

The City of North Vancouver unanimously voted to pledge $1,000 toward the annual festival on Monday.

City and district firefighters are each set to raise cash for local charities throughout the month-long event. To give the fundraising a boost, firefighters are also selling advertising space at the event to local businesses. Small placards are available for $250 and large signs are available for $1,000.

Businesses who pledge $750 are set to receive a decorated Christmas tree and a sponsorship appreciation plaque. For $1,000 or more businesses, can also receive four admissions for fire truck rides.

The display is set to be up from Nov. 30 until Dec. 31 with Family Friday Nights on Dec. 7, 14 and 21.
