The following is a selection of volunteer opportunities from various community organizations, made available through Volunteer North Shore, a service of North Shore Community Resources Society.

Tetra Technical Volunteer Skilled volunteers create customized assistive devices for people with physical disabilities. They meet clients to discuss client need; design and build an assistive device based on identified need; complete followup paperwork on completed project; attend monthly volunteer meetings.

Footprints Day Program Volunteer Share talents and hobbies with adults between the ages of 19 and 64 who have developmental disabilities. Activities could include sewing, woodworking, photography, crafts.

Shoppers and Walkers Volunteers Many seniors are looking for people to assist them with buying items and walking in the shopping mall. Those who can spare one and a half hours per week are needed.

Gallery Attendants Be present during the open hours of the gallery to greet gallery patrons and to inform them of North Vancouver Arts exhibitions, events and various programs. If the gallery is quiet volunteers may be asked to help with day-to-day tasks.

Program Support Volunteer Those interested in working front line with families who have young children are needed. Feel comfortable sitting at the play dough table, cutting up snacks or talking with parents about what is working well in their parenting? Volunteers help with setup and cleanup, prepare snacks, play with the children, support parents.
