The following is a selection of volunteer opportunities from various community organizations, made available through Volunteer North Shore, a service of North Shore Community Resources Society.

Democracy Café Volunteer Democracy Café is North Shore Community Resource’s platform for all types of citizen engagement in democratic life including learning about local, provincial and federal government, electoral reform, voting and how citizens can participate in public life to make their democracy better. Volunteer will be assisting with event management, community outreach school workshops, performing research and more.

Puppy Raiser Raise a dog from eight weeks up to 24 months old. Teach the dog manners and basic obedience and socialize to all sort of things. The dog lives with the volunteer 24/7 and there are weekly classes in Ladner, B.C. as well as additional meetings.

Program Leader Program leaders always welcome. Silver Harbour runs most of its recreational activities with volunteer instructors and welcomes individuals willing to teach or lead programs in visual arts, performing arts, dance, fitness, indoor sports, card games, computers, languages and more.

Volunteer Access Pro Bono Society provides a range of volunteer opportunities for non-lawyers to assist staff and lawyers in serving the public. These include direct service roles for articling students, paralegals, notaries and law students and support roles for post-secondary students and others.

COHO Festival Volunteer A variety of opportunities are available to help out at the festival including setup, take down, barbecue, and more. Have fun, meet new people and help a local non-profit society.
