Students Reece Martis and John Gelacio rappel their way down from the tower site at the District of North Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services training facility May 7.
The undertaking was part of a North Vancouver School District work experience program where one of the offerings, open to district Grade 11 and 12 students, was a “Two Day High School Cadet Fire Fighter Academy.” Students who take the work experience program during their last two years of secondary school are placed with local employers in positions that align with their interest and future career goals.
