It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Joan, who died peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, surrounded by family. She was 75.
Born in Winnipeg, Joan was a joyful person and had an amazing life. She grew up in Victoria, then went on to VGH to become a Registered Nurse. There she met her husband, Jeff. Together they lived in Port Hardy, San Francisco and settled in North Vancouver.
Joan is lovingly remembered by husband Jeff; sons Ross (Ashleigh), Ryan (Tia), daughter, Holly (Derek); sisters Judy (Glenn), Sally (Scott), Susan; and adored grandchildren Benjamin, Zoe, Daniel, Greyson, Jayne, Josephine, Mela, as well as her many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her sister, Kathy.
Joan loved being a nurse and enjoyed quilting, reading, gardening and baking, and all of her friends from those pursuits. A celebration of life for friends and family will be held in the near future. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan's name to the Alzheimer’ s Society of B.C., Paul’ s Club (www.paulsclub.ca), or to the Capilano Community Services Society - Senior’ s Hub.
