Wendy was born in Edmonton, Alberta, to Edwin and Aileen Clarke (née Jensen). At 16, she moved to Victoria, BC, to attend St. Margaret’ s School and later earned a Bachelor of Education from the University of Victoria. She married Elmer Grenke in 1969 and raised a family in West Vancouver and Duncan.
Wendy loved British TV and film, was an admirer of the royal family, and a loyal supporter of all Vancouver sports teams (Go Canucks). She was a fierce intellectual who enjoyed a glass of wine with a good book and possessed a quiet strength. Above all, she was a kind and loving mother.
Predeceased by Elmer in 2016, she is survived by her daughter Tiffany, son-in-law Paddi, sons Jon and James; her sisters Sharon and Judith; and her nephews Thomas and Edwin.
