It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dianne, who left us peacefully on June 7, 2025, at the age of 85.
Born on October 28, 1939, in Hamilton, Ontario, Dianne grew up surrounded by family and friends in the community she called home. In 1972, she moved to North Vancouver, British Columbia, where she raised her three children — Mike, Rob, and Jen — and built a life filled with warmth, love, and incredible food.
Known for her generous heart and a kitchen that was always open, Dianne had a lifelong passion for cooking. She especially cherished Christmas, a season she made magical for her family through festive traditions, lovingly prepared meals, and a home filled with laughter. Although she returned to Hamilton in the early 2000s, Dianne often spoke of her deep love for Vancouver and the years she spent there. It remained a cherished place in her heart.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ernie, in 2023, and is now reunited with him. She leaves behind her children, Mike, Rob, and Jen; her adored grandchildren, Lauren, Trevor, Zacharie, and Charlie; as well as extended family and many dear friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and warmth.
A private family gathering will be held in her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you raise a glass at your next family dinner, share a favourite recipe, or simply hold your loved ones close — in honour of a woman who believed in the power of food, family, and love.
