Arthur Kent McCleary
November 27, 1942 - June 14, 2025
At 82, our beloved Kent passed away peacefully at Lions Gate Hospital, surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife Joan, daughters Melissa (Ali) and Rebecca (Michael), grandchildren Riley, Mikayla and Jameson, and his brother John (Sandra). He was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Eileen, and his sister Norma.
Born in Toronto, Kent moved west after graduating from Ryerson, later settling in BC with Joan. He loved sports, skiing, biking with the Bean Boys, summer trips to Mexico, family camping, music, dancing and connecting with friends from the Legion. Kent liked lively political debates - often saying, “ I’ m not yelling, I’ m just passionate.” Beneath his sometimes gruff exterior was a sharp wit and a warm heart. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and handyman ( sometimes subpar but always determined). Kent left this world knowing how much he was loved by his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 26, from 2 - 5pm at 1488 Fintry Place, North Vancouver.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukaemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.
