Richard Alexander Wallace (Alec) passed away peacefully with his children by his side on May 28, 2025, at the age of 89. Alec was born on June 16, 1935, in Roscrea, County Tipperary, Ireland and moved to Canada in 1957 after accepting a job with the Bank of Montreal. He met his wife, Florence, in Edmonton and was married there in 1962. They moved to Calgary and Montreal before settling with their three children in North Vancouver in 1975.
Alec left the bank in the late '70s and joined Dunhill Personnel Consultants, followed by Tanton Mitchell Executive Search, where he had a successful career until his retirement in 2006.
Outside of work, Alec enjoyed contributing to his church community, the North Vancouver Rotary Club, Friends of Yellow Point Lodge, and the YMCA Endowment. He also greatly enjoyed spending time with the Gleneagles Men's Golf group and the Amateur Chefs group, travelling extensively, and spending time with his beloved family, including six grandchildren.
Alec was predeceased (2022) by his wife of almost 60 years. He will be dearly missed and is survived by children Kevin (Kim), Jillian (Brad), Janet (Lance); grandchildren Max, Olivia, Kyra, Connor, Lucy and Sophia; sister Mabel (Charlie) in Ireland and sisters-in-law Vivienne and Rubie; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
