West Vancouver Heritage Club Games fundraiser

The inaugural West Vancouver Heritage Club Games fundraiser  took place on Aug. 17 with more than 22 teams of four taking part in the event hosted by the West Vancouver Lawn Bowling Club, the West Vancouver Tennis Club and Hollyburn Sailing Club.

The day started off with morning refreshments and a lawn bowling tournament with participants parading up the road escorted by a bagpiper as they next arrived at the West Vancouver Tennis Club for an afternoon barbecue  and a fun variety of tennis “skills” competitions.

The Hollyburn Sailing Club featured dryland sailing “competitions” such as boat bailing, resulting in very wet participants and team life-jacket zipping trials. Monies raised by the event are split evenly between the West Vancouver Community Foundation and Athletes for Kids (A4K).
