Breathtaking-view penthouse in downtown Vancouver listed for $20.5M (PHOTOS)

Take in the 360-degree views from this two-storey sky-home with a whopping 9,000 square feet of living space

A near-9,000-square-foot condo with nine bathrooms? This two-storey penthouse in Vancouver's West End with jaw-dropping views has got to be worth a virtual looky-loo.

The ultra-luxe home on Jervis Street at Alberni (where the fancy stores are located) was listed on August 9 for $20,500,000. That made it the Lower Mainland’s most expensive new listing on the MLS last week, and likely the whole of B.C.

The huge sky-home has five bedrooms, those nine bathrooms, a personal gym, wood-panelled custom library, huge double-height living room, not one but two staircases to the upper level, two kitchens and a family/media room. The master suite is particularly impressive, with a vast dressing room and huge bathroom with vaulted ceilings and ocean views.

There are also 1,500 square feet of open and covered outdoor terraces to take in the 360-degree views of the ocean, city and mountains.

The chi-chi building is in the heart of the city and its common amenities include an indoor pool, hot tub, exercise centre and club room.

The home’s assessed value in July 2017 was $9,328,000, and property taxes last year were $20,584.74. The lucky new owner will also have to pay strata fees of $4,167 a month.
