The family of B.C. teen Ashley Wadsworth has brought back her body to Canada.

The body of Ashley Wadsworth, the 19-year-old Vernon teen who was murdered in England earlier this month, is now home with her family.

Last week, Wadsworth was brought home after WestJet stepped in, offering to fly the Canadian teen home.

In a Facebook post shared by Wadsworth's cousin Melissa Locke, Wadsworth's body is now home, and the family plans to lay her to rest Feb. 23 at noon.

The family is inviting anyone who would like to attend virtually to send Tova Wadsworth a private message on Facebook for the livestream link.

Wednesday's funeral will take place at the Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, with the burial to follow.

A friend of the family created a GoFundMe page to help cover the costs of bringing Wadsworth home and to help ease the financial strains on the family.

The fundraiser has raised more than $40,000 – "help we never could've imagined," said Jadine Wakefield and Tova Wadsworth, who organized the fundraiser on behalf of the family.

"Anything remaining in this Gofundme will be used to set up a scholarship in her name. We would also like to make a donation to a charity in her name on behalf of others who have fallen victim to domestic violence."
