The Covid-19 testing centre near YVR  has re-opened, after it closed its doors for a brief time on Monday afternoon.

Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) announced on its Twitter account on Monday afternoon that the site, close to Vancouver International Airport, had shut down temporarily.

The health authority was directing people to the nearest site, St. Vincent's, at Heather and 33rd Avenue in Vancouver to “better manage demand for the next hour. Stay tuned for more info.”

VCH later told the Richmond News that it took the decision to close for a short while due to the traffic volumes in the airport area, both from people trying to access the testing site and people using YVR.

VCH is also strongly advising the public to monitor wait times at testing sites by visiting http://www.edwaittimes.ca/WaitTimes.aspx ahead of arriving at a testing site.
