NEW WESTMINSTER — Police in New Westminster, B.C., are seeking two suspects who covered themselves in white sheets as they attempted to steal audio equipment from a seniors' care community.

Police say staff of the facility on Colborne Street reported the theft on Aug. 9 after finding one floor of the building ransacked, and the electronic music equipment abandoned on the street outside.

CCTV footage shared by the police on social media shows the suspects covered in sheets as they attempt a ghostly getaway from the building.

But other images show they let their makeshift disguises slip, revealing a man about 30 years old with shaved brown hair and a woman about the same age with shoulder-length blonde hair and glasses.

Police spokeswoman Hailey Finnigan says that although most of the stolen equipment that residents used to make music together was recovered, it was "real low" that it was targeted at all.

She says anyone who knows the suspects should contact New Westminster police.
