One of the world's most famous faces is coming to Vancouver this summer, but not for the reason one might assume.

While Jeff Goldblum is an iconic actor and the city has been dubbed Hollywood North, the Jurassic Park star and Wes Anderson regular will be in town this August for a jazz show with his band, the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra.

"Be it jazz, conversing with crowds, or working with aspiring musicians, Goldblum does it all with a joyful sense of connection and reveling in the moment," states the event's page. "Audiences will enjoy a night of classic jazz and improvised comedy with the beloved and gregarious Hollywood star."

Goldblum, a long-time fan of jazz, has been playing with the band for several years. In 2018 they released their debut album, The Capitol Studio Sessions, and have followed it up with two more. They released the third March 24, 2023.

Now they're touring around a bit, and have booked a show at Vancouver's Vogue Theatre on August 12; it'll be the band's first time playing in Canada.

Tickets are on sale now, and range from $79 to $137, plus fees.
