A 30-year-old man has been charged and will appear in court in 2021 more than a year after his involvement in a physical altercation that resulted in another man’s death.

Dallas Phillip Adsit was approved of a manslaughter charge by the BC Prosecution Service on Oct. 6, was found in the city on Oct. 28 and was subsequently arrested by the Prince George RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit.

On the evening of Oct. 5, 2019, nearly 24 hours after an altercation occurred at 20th Avenue and Redwood Street, 35-year-old Gregory Gareth Wale was found dead in his home after he suffered serious injuries.

Mounties said Wale left the hospital on his own accord prior to receiving any medical attention.

After finding his body in his Edmonton Street home, police issued a public plea for two men who were believed to be involved in the fight.

A suspect eventually presented himself to police.

"This death was both tragic and unnecessary," says Cpl. Craig Douglass in a statement from October last year.

Adsit is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 6, 2021.
