Oak Bay police have released a surveillance photo of a suspect in a weekend theft at a store in the 2000-block of Oak Bay Avenue.
Police responded about 9:25 a.m. Saturday and were told that a woman had stolen several items.
Staff tried to follow the woman when she left but lost sight of her in a nearby yard.
Officers searched the yard and found a garbage bag containing close to $900 worth of merchandise.
The suspect is described as five-foot-seven with dark hair. She was wearing a black jacket and black pants and was carrying a black leather bag.
