Man suffers two partially-severed fingers after machete attack in Vancouver building: VPD

Police say he was sleeping when he was attacked.

Vancouver police say a man was attacked with a machete while he was sleeping inside a building on Friday (Jan. 28).

A 26-year-old man suffered serious injuries after he was attacked with a machete Friday night while sleeping inside of the Colonial Hotel located at 122 Water St. in Gastown, reads a tweet from the VPD. 

Police say the man has two partially-severed fingers and knife wounds to his left knee from the attack.

The VPD has identified a person of interest and an investigation is ongoing.
