A 32-year-old man has been charged in the shooting of another man this past weekend.
Jamie George Guimond is facing two charges, according to the Vancouver Police Department (VPD).
Guimond "has been charged with attempted murder and discharging a firearm in connection with the incident, which occurred near Main and Hastings just after 2:30 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 19)," state police.
The accused is alleged to have shot a 31-year-old man multiple times on Hastings Street. Police were already in the area; some stayed with the injured man while others chased a suspect into Chinatown, where he was arrested.
The victim is expected to recover from his wounds. Guimond remains in police custody and will appear in court on Feb. 24.
