Police say the explosives threat that led to an evacuation of West Vancouver Secondary on Tuesday has turned out to be a false alarm.

School district official and police agreed to close the school and send students home in the morning after receiving a threat. Officers were on scene for much of the day.

“After detailed investigation at the West Vancouver Secondary campus, supported by Vancouver Police Department specialty K9 services, investigators have concluded threat information received was unsubstantiated,” a statement from police read Tuesday evening.

School will be back in session on Wednesday morning, the school district has confirmed.

Police said they have not yet identified who made the threat.
