UPDATE: The Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour stop in North Vancouver has been cancelled due to coronavirus concerns

Rogers Hometown Hockey is coming to North Vancouver March 14 and 15 and the travelling festival will be bringing along some friends like Bo Horvat and Kirk McLean.

The two-day road show will begin at noon on Saturday at the Shipyards and will wrap up Sunday evening with an outdoor viewing party of an NHL showdown between the Winnipeg Jets and Vancouver Canucks. TV’s Ron McLean and Tara Slone will be on-site for the free hockey-themed festival which will include meet-and-greets with current and former NHLers like Horvat and McLean, live entertainment from local musicians, games, prize giveaways, and other fun and interactive activities.

Here are some of the activities on offer during the festival:

Rogers Fan Hub

In this interactive hockey experience you can fill out a Fan Profile for a chance to win prizes, enjoy autograph signings with Vancouver Canucks captain Bo Horvat and NHL alumni Kirk McLean, test your stickhandling with the Infinite Dangles challenge, and grab some free popcorn.

Scotiabank Community Hockey Rink

This family-friendly outdoor hockey space is designed to engage hockey fans who can interact with NHL alumni and celebrate the game. Scotiabank will also be donating $15,000 to local minor hockey associations in the surrounding area at each tour stop this season.

Hyundai Drives Hockey

This area will feature games and challenges for kids and parents as well as opportunities to test-drive Hyundai SUVs (not available for kids). There will also be prizes and giveaways.

Sportsnet Shooting Accuracy Game

In this zone fans will race against the clock to snipe as many targets as possible before time runs out. A digital scoreboard will track the best scores of the day while also displaying the best times from the other tour stops across the country. 

Steve Goodtime Rockin’ Hockey Show

What’s a hockey acrobat? You can find out at the Hometown Hockey festival where Steve Goodtime will performs his “family-friendly rock n’ roll hockey show packed with fire, juggling, stunts, and guitar solos.”

Dr. Oetker Giuseppe Pizzeria

Free pizza slices! Prizes!

Playmobil Kids Zone 

Fans can face off against friends and family with the Playmobil NHL Arena and its lineup of NHL figures. Enter to win Prizes!  

Sobeys Community Barbeque

Sobeys is donating supplied for this cookout, with all funds raised going towards supporting minor hockey in North Vancouver.

Live Local Entertainment

Local favourites like the Adam Woodall Band, Austin Short and Chris Kennedy will perform on Saturday, followed by Matt Hoyles on Sunday.

  • Sunday, March 15 – Festival opens at 11 a.m. and runs through the end of the Rogers Hometown Hockey outdoor viewing party.
