Some young players from North Vancouver’s Highlands Little League got a thrill Saturday with a visit from MLB player Rowan Wick.

The North Vancouver native, himself a former Highlands player, threw some pitches and signed autographs for the aspiring baseball stars. Wick made his MLB debut in 2018, appearing in 10 games as a reliever for the San Diego Padres. He was traded to the Chicago Cubs in November and will compete for a roster spot this spring.

This year Highlands Little League is celebrating its 60th season.
