There’s a North Vancouver lacrosse legend tearing it up at the 2019 World Lacrosse Men's Indoor World Championships on now in Langley, although he’s not wearing the colours of Team Canada.

Brian Gillis is suiting up for Ireland at the championships and has been putting on quite a show at the tournament, which runs Sept. 19-28 at Langley Events Centre. Gillis was tied for top scorer out of all players in pool play, collecting 30 points in four games, and was second in goals with 16 (Ireland was competing in a lower pool that did not include world powerhouses such as Canada, the Iroquois Nation and the United States).

The Windsor Secondary grad did help Ireland put up and impressive 3-1 record in pool play followed by a 13-4 win over Slovakia to open the playoffs. They’ll be at it again tonight during a 7:30 p.m. showdown against Australia.
