North Van teen signs with Whitecaps

North Vancouver's Thomas Gardner signed on with the Vancouver Whitecaps last week, inking a pro contract with the club's USL team, Whitecaps FC 2.

North Vancouver's Thomas Gardner signed on with the Vancouver Whitecaps last week, inking a pro contract with the club's USL team, Whitecaps FC 2.

The 17-year-old first joined the Whitecaps club at age 12 in 2011, playing in the pre-residency program. He then moved through the residency program's U16 and U18 levels. Internationally he has played with Canada's U15 and U17 national teams.
