NORTH Vancouver's Brynn Danvers was recently selected to represent Canada at the 2013 Can Am Mex rowing championships scheduled for July 813 in Oklahoma City, Okla.

The Can Am Mex features top junior athletes from Canada, the United States and Mexico. Danvers attended a national selection camp in Welland, Ont., earlier this month and was picked as one of the top four junior women's scullers in the country.

Danvers' sculling team will be coached by her current rowing coach, Cinda Ewton of the Burnaby Lake Rowing Club, who is also from the North Shore.

Danvers, a 16-year-old Deep Cove resident, will be one of the youngest competitors at the under-19 event. She recently finished her Grade 11 year at Collingwood School.

DEEP Cove resident Brynn Danvers carries the boat that helped carry her onto the Canadian junior national rowing team.
