Photos: Another $1M has been axed off price for beautiful Arthur Erickson-designed Kitsilano waterfront home

It's the second time in just a couple months that the price has dropped.

Arthur Erickson. Waterfront. Kitsilano.

If you're interested in real estate in Vancouver and those three things don't interest you, that's...very unusual. What if the price kept falling?

All of those things are part of a home currently for sale on 3281 Point Grey Rd. It's one of his Point Grey Townhouses, designed in 1963 and built a couple of years later. The four-bedroom, three-bathroom home is feet from the ocean with wide views of English Bay.

Less than a year ago it was on the market for $14.8 million. That listing is gone now; in May a new one appeared asking $13.888 million for the same house.

That one has now been updated, dropping another million off the asking price, down to $12.88 million.

The townhouses were all built at the same time and posed an unusual challenge for Erickson, as they were connected, but for different people.

"The architectural problem was to discover a structural module that would unify these diverse elements," states his website. "This was accomplished by using clusters of brick columns to form hallways, bathrooms, closets, storage areas, etc., and spanning the larger spaces between with wood beams and joists."

This particular home has beautiful, secluded spaces outside along with massive views of the ocean and Stanley Park. While there are amazing views over the water, the opposite side of the house offers a private courtyard at ground level, and a patio in the trees.
