REW, New and Improved: Real Estate Wire Is Here

Our new name and logo are all about keeping buyers and sellers connected to everything real estate

After months of brainstorming and discussion on the identity and vision of our company,, which previously stood for Real Estate Weekly, is now Real Estate Wire.  Our new name and logo reflect our dedication to becoming the #1 source of real estate search across Canada, and the industry leader in the home search experience.

Real Estate Wire is the place to get plugged into the latest information on Canadian real estate. Our new name is a shift away from our former, print-focused title of Real Estate Weekly, reflecting the website's 24/7 connectivity. Real Estate Wire represents our commitment to providing home buyers and sellers with a comprehensive search experience packed with all the information they need to reach their real estate goals.

Our fresh logo provides more of a tech look for the company. Two overlapping homes represent the interchange of conversation, information and property that takes place between buyers, sellers, agents, and all other real estate professionals.

“Finding your next home should be straightforward and the search experience should be easy and rewarding,” said Allen Moon, VP and general manager, REW. “Our new name and logo reflect our commitment to educating buyers and sellers through information and insight - empowering all of our audiences to make more informed decisions.”

At REW, our focus is on creating a complete home search experience for our users. We want to empower people to achieve their real estate goals through industry insight – such as up-to-the-minute market news, trends analysis and expert advice – as well as accurate, comprehensive property information.

In addition to searching by price, neighbourhood, buildings and keywords, we recently launched a new property search feature based on proximity to schools and transport hubs.

“ offers many different, and surprisingly easy ways to search for properties," said Eric Langhjelm, VPG Realty. "This has made REW an invaluable tool for both my clients and myself - whether they're buying or selling. I also rely on REW's news section to help me stay on top of the market."

While we may have a new name, Real Estate Weekly is still in circulation. The print publication, which went to press for the first time in 1977, remains a staple in the Metro Vancouver real estate space. Real Estate Weekly is a highly respected brand that continues to provide the industry with a great offline advertising channel.

We’d love to hear your feedback about our new name and look. Share your thoughts and comments using the hashtag #thenewREW on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
