Dear Editor:

My wife and I are residents of Raven Woods and thoroughly enjoy our surroundings. Happily we face south and are away from the steady flow of dump and cement trucks etc. climbing up from  Dollarton Highway to service the seemingly endless phases under construction, all of which appear to be already sold out. We have made no effort to count the number of dwellings in Raven Woods but speculate that the immediate area is home to several thousand people and many hundreds of private cars all of which jostle with service and delivery vehicles  up one solitary road along which lines of cars are always parked at both curbs.

It surprises us that in a country so set on community and personal safety, the District of North Vancouver and even the fire department appear to be curiously unconcerned about a dead-end street that in the event of a fire or an accident would become a bottleneck with possible serious consequences.

Fortunately, no such unhappy event has occurred to date but it seems prudent that before more phases are opened up for development an alternate exit route  be opened up for immediate use.

I am sure mine is not a lone voice addressing this issue and that the powers that be read your paper.
