LETTER: There are rules for displaying the Canadian flag during a parade

Dear editor:

After seeing their entries in this year's Canada Day parade, I would like to remind our elected officials that there are rules for displaying our Canadian flag.

Some of this year's official entries featured flags taped to the hoods of cars, or worn as capes. While done in good spirit, these displays dishonour the flag code, which promotes the dignity of our national symbol.

Next year's floats will look even better if these protocols are followed.
